3-Step Closet Audit
Everyone has clothes that they don’t wear, and everyone has clothes they don’t wear but can’t seem to get rid of. The problem then becomes an overflowing closet full of clothes that are out of style, don’t fit or both. I recommend doing a closet audit at least at the change of season, if not more often. I’m going to help you with a 3-step guide!
As you are pulling things out to pack away or change around, take an honest look at the item and follow the chart below.
Whatever you decide to keep, pack it away or move to it’s designated area!
Take the donation pile to your nearest shelter and the trash pile to your garbage can.
Some additional tips:
Put things aside that are in good condition that your friends or family may like, but only if you are going to see them within a month. Otherwise, your house fills with piles of clothes and that defeats the purpose!
Place a laundry basket that in the back of your closet for clothes that you try on that don’t fit or realize you don’t like throughout the year (or until your next closet audit). That leaves less to do when your quarterly audit comes around.
If there is something that holds a lot of feelings, feel free to hold on to it but make sure those items don’t start to take over.
