Closet Systems Needed
Our client was looking for some organization to be brought to her closet. She had clear zones - his and hers, with different colored hangers for each, but that was it. We started by sorting, folding and organizing the clothes she had. It’s a lot easier to come up with a system when you know how much of what you’re working with.
From there, our team assessed the baskets she had to and determined that she needed a few more. Because she has so many clothes, we suggested packing away her out of season clothes to save space and free up some hangers. By doing that we were able to get a purse organizer to bring her purses down off the top shelf so she could easily see what she had.
We re-purposed the bins she had on the top shelf and positioned them on the side to give a better visual of what was in the bin. From there, we folded t-shirts in thirds to show a bit of the t-shirt design (his and hers) and used the last one for her jeans, to save on hanger space.
We ended up needing a little bit of drawer space, so we used my new favorite dresser from mDesign - and were even able to get it in colors that matched her closet décor. This dresser is the perfect size, can be used almost anywhere (we’ll be sharing a kitchen use shortly), and it takes minutes to put together. Another great get from mDesign!
Lastly, we needed to figure out a shoe solution – she has a lot of shoes, and they were getting lost at the bottom behind all of her hanging clothes. We purchased 2 different options to see which she liked best, and she ended up liking them both. The first option was individual boxes that you could be securely attached to each other in any desired configuration. The other option was one piece that opens to 3 “slots” already stacked. This kind type was slightly larger and allowed us to put 2 pairs in 1 slot to save space.
We had so much fun organizing this closet! We look forward to hearing how the new systems work. To schedule your consultation, visit www.keepinitrealorganized.com or call Stacy at 404.436.1012 today.
