4 Tips for Staying Organized While Packing
The busy travel season has already started but we are here to help you prepare for your next trip and all your future trips!
Create a packing list – before you start packing, think about where you’re going, how many days you’ll be gone and what activities you will be doing. Make sure you include everything you will need – undergarments, accessories (belts, scarves, jewelry, etc.), outerwear, and shoes.
Utilize packing cubes – packing cubes changed my life, no cap! I use them to separate my clothes by type – undergarments in one, workout clothes in another, casual clothes in another, and work clothes (if it’s a work trip) in a final cube. I have 2 sets and use the other set to organize my carry-on bag and electronic gadgets.
Roll your clothes – once you’ve compiled the list of what you’re bringing and have your packing cubes, I recommend rolling your clothes. I discussed this in a blog last year and it is very controversial, but I think it really helps! It helps to easily identify your clothes when you’re at your destination and helps reduce wrinkles. No one wants to iron when they’re out of town!
Keep documents and medications in one place – if possible, all travel documents should be kept in your electronic wallet. For those who like to have a paper copy (hi mom and dad!), put all your travel documents in a folder and keep in your carry-on bag. Make sure to include travel insurance, confirmation numbers and passports. Keeping all of them together will help you find them when you need them. I also recommend keeping your properly labeled prescription medications in your carry-on bag.
Follow these tips and packing for your next adventure should be a walk in the park. Let us know in the comments below where you’re going next!
